Move over, Mahira Khan. Ranbir Kapoor might have an arranged marriage .

Ranbir Kapoor might have to opt for an arranged marriage if his mother has her way even as link-up rumours with Pakistani actress Mahira Khan do not seem to die down

Ranbir Kapoor and Mahira Khan's photosmight be making the internet lose its mind, but seems like mommy Neetu Kapoor is not very impressed with her son's link-up rumours. Buzz has it that Neetu is apparently trying to get Ranbir hitched as soon as possible.

A report in Mumbai Mirror says that Neetu Kapoor has been trying hard to make Ranbir listen to her and settle down. The only thing she talks about these days, says the report, is Ranbir's marriage. So much so, that every wedding that she attends, she tries foraging for a match for her son. That's one quintessential Indian parent there, we say!

However, Ranbir doesn't seem to be in the mood to follow his mother's ways and has supposedly told her that he will tie the knot when he wants to. But when have our parents ever listened to us, especially in matters concerning marriage...

Neetu Kapoor, say rumours, even made her son meet an NRI girl in London.

It was in May this year when reports about the mother-son duo going to London to look for a bride for Ranbir first surfaced. "The London visit could very well be for a meet and greet with a well known family in London for the actor's marriage. Though nothing is confirmed as of now, but time will tell..." a source had told a tabloid back then.

Ranbir's uncle Randhir, however, helped clarify things.

The veteran actor told a newspaper, "Ranbir is having a terrific time with all the success and the money he's got, and age being in his favour too. Why does he have to get married and spoil it all so soon? Shaadi ke liye bahut time hai abhi usko (He's got enough time in hand to get married). Let him have a nice time right now."

A few months ago, photos of Mahira and Ranbir enjoying a smoke in New York went viral on the internet.

Ranbir soon put across his views on the photos and his relationship with Mahira, "I've gotten to know Mahira in a personal capacity over the last few months. She is somebody who I admire and respect, for her achievements and even more for the person she is. It is very unfair the way she is being judged and spoken about. What is also sad is the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman. I request you to stop the negativity and move on with your beautiful god gifted lives. Peace and love."

Mahira, on the other hand, first said at the trailer launch of her Pakistani film Verna, "It is my personal life and it is very normal for a boy and girl to hang out."

She then went on to apologise for the photos.

She said that she was "completely shattered and broken" by all the negative comments directed at her.

"I'd be lying if I said that I decided right off the bat that I wouldn't respond to this controversy. And I'm a very strong woman but when all of this happened, I was completely shattered and broken. I would think about posting a statement every day. Then I would stop myself because I just wouldn't know what to say," Mahira said.

She added, "To be honest, I understand where all the criticism came from and it didn't come from a place of hate. I'm not talking about the trolls but those who were genuinely disappointed to see those pictures. It's the same disappointment that my nani or my mamoo would have felt seeing that. So even now when I meet an older lady who says that she didn't like the pictures, I'm quick to apologise."

On the work front, Ranbir is currently busy with the biopic on Sanjay Dutt's life. The film is slated for a release in March 30, 2018.
